Renaissance Park was founded in 1984 as only a tennis facility, but quickly expanded. The 400-acre park project quickly incorporated plans to build a golf course. Architect Kidwell & Hurdzan Inc., an environmental conscientious architect company, built the 7680-yard golf course, opening in 1987. The course has undergone many renovations, and now is one of Charlotte’s Premier Public Golfing Facilities.
